My Boomer Tips

We sat on the floor in depression era buildings made for 1/3 the kids-
but we didn't get new schools until the 1970's- in time for Gen X to sit in the chairs-
do you know any reason why?

Not true. Boomers went to school in the 50s when most civic construction was done. They enjoyed only the best.

Also the states build schools not the USA.

Are you actually stating that NO elementary school were built between 1939 and 1970? I’d really like to see some evidence of that…

Because they were using the money to make bombs to blow up this generations schools, overseas.

  9. Here's your change

At one time the taxes the rich had to pay were used to build schools and hospitals.
And since their tax break, more hospitals and schools have closed.

We did not have the money. America has been growing in wealth over the generations and there was not the money then, and the idea of spending at the ridiculous levels of today did not even cross their minds.

We did this great thing back then. WE MADE DO WITH WHAT WE HAD.

Thumbs down???? We did have more students per school. We also did not have the designer schools that we have today. Were schools built? Absolutely. Of course he was exaggerating on the sitting on the floor, I did not see that in any of the schools I attended…but we DID have more students/class. We did not know that we were crowded. Teachers did not whine about grading 40-45 papers like they do about 20 today.

But no matter how you slice it, there were less schools.
