My Boomer Tips
i'm not jewish, never been to a bat-mitzvah, when asking the only info i got was not to take pictures except at a special moment and not to use electrical devices like cell phones as it's on the sabbath. apparently the rabbi and church are progressive though some orthodox guests will be there. i was told a little dressy but otherwise no dress code. thanks for any tips. there's no lunch planned, just a posh snack

How about a flower arrangement and a congratulations card or you can offer to take her out to lunch or dinner at a later date to celebrate since you have been friends for so long.
Enjoy!
Find a bottle of manischewitz, she’s far too old for any "fancy" gifts.
Why don’t you get her a Star of David pendant & Chain.Hope it helps.
Add:sorry I ment pendant not cross.I didn’t mean to offend.
Cross= NO The Jewish are not Christian and she would probably not appreciate a symbol from another faith especially on such an occasion. Maybe she would like a plant (that’s my fall back gift) or a nice sweater. A trinket box would also be nice, every woman I know of has jewelry and small trinkets running around everywhere. You should have an idea of her likes and pastimes, just think of something she would enjoy and base your gift on that. As long as it’s not too intimate, lavish or personal. There will be family and others gathered who may not approve of certain things. Like no lacy bra and panties…lol!
