Seriously, they've ruined everything for us young people. They've had control of the economy for decades but they got selfish and greedy and now the economy is in shambles. Now people in my age range 18-29 are having difficulty finding good jobs out there. Even college graduates with solid degrees are having trouble finding work. It must be so nice for you selfish Baby Boomers to have enjoyed your youths during high times, now us young people have to pick up after your mess.
I guess the idea of wanting a better future for one's children died when the Baby Boomers showed up. I'll be looking forward to throwing your @sses in a Nursing Home where you belong.

It seems like most if not all of our problem can be traced to the Boomers. As the one of the oldest Generation Z members i read things like Social Security failing in 2041 and the economy staying just as bad as it is. And how Baby Boomers wont be leaving their jobs when they retire so there wont be more open jobs till they're in their 70s. As my dad never stops telling us he had paper routes, snow plowing and leaf raking jobs when he was our age. But there are no more paper routes and people have snow and leaf blowers. I've looked around and no one will hire inexperienced teens compared to experienced adults. And dont even get me started on the clusterf**k of the Gulf War/War on Terror that heaped huge debt on us. So is it the Boomer's mindset that got us in this mess or what?

I'm referring to the economy when it comes to jobs. It seems as though baby boomers are taking up all of the jobs, because the main they care about is whether or not they'll be financially secure when they retire. Also, employers tend to hire people with more experience, so us people born during the generation y era usually aren't even given a chance. It's really hard for a lot of us to land jobs.

Now that the baby boomers are turning 65 and are supposed to start retiring, will they leave the workplace in 2011 and drive the unemployment rate down as the unemployed take their vacated jobs?

Seems like all the talent is retiring, if not now , within the next few years. I don't see as much new talent being hired. What's going to happen? Will the workload go up for those that can do a particular job well. Or will companies just hire many incompetent people and expect things to be smooth sailing.
What happened to OTJT and apprenticeship programs?
I think we are doomed. All jobs and work will be offloaded to China and India. Or?

I have to write a sociology paper and I found the baby boomers topic pretty interesting. In my opinion it seems that nowadays alot of them are losing their jobs (bc alot have no education and work in factories) and are unable to retire. I am on the right track or way off? Does anyone have any websites that would help for research for my paper? Any advice would be great.

What should a guy who has been unsuccessful in keeping jobs in computer graphics do with his life if he is turning 50 years old? He has a bachelor's degree and skills. They just don't enable him to make a living at them.
