They had the statistics for many years as to number of people who would need the social security they paid into their whole lives. Why is it that when this point in time has arrived that jobs for generation X and those younger are now not there to pay the tax base needed to fulfill government obligations to the boomers?
How about today... they are getting old, crusty, and useless...
NO! I mean... not people who are born in the 70's -- I mean 50's boomers IN THE 70's
goddamn it... I hate it when people misunderstand a question...
I am a baby boomer, and I remember quite well the overcrowding in the schools when I attended, the congession in the roads when we started driving, and the number of other problems brought on an infrastructure built for a smaller population. The increase in demand by the boomers also attributed to a lot of the inflation of the 1970s.
Is this aging population now driving medical cost up by pressuring an industry geared to fewer patients?
It is interesting that medical have only recently started increasing in cost at a rate greater than inflation.
If this pressure on medical cost is a result of the aging boomers, how will a national health plan relieve the growing expense? Will not only an increase in supply, more doctors and hospitals, decrease cost?
Your thoughts?
As a baby boomer, not one who considers myself to be a senior, (horrible term) but a person who feels as fit and as healthy as when I was in my 20's, there are a lot of us out there, we are not over the hill yet, we have a lot to offer and we enjoy
having fun just the same as we did before.
What is it that you as a baby boomer consider important to be able to enjoy your life, what are your interests? passions? What do you see as essential future planning? What are your concerns?
Would love some feedback from the boomers out there, it is interesting to hear the thoughts of others, life is too short to ponder, making changes as we grow is important, makes life
more rewarding. We never stop learning and you are never too old to take on new adventures, it's what keeps us young.
Look forward to some great ideas in response.
The movie the Bucket List what a great film.
What would you have in your bucket list?
Many thanks
