My Boomer Tips
I have heard that mentioned several times. According to what I've heard they think the baby boomer generation has really messed things up!
They say that is the driving force in the surprising younger voters turnout.
I didn't say I believe it is true! I just don't know, that is why I asked the question; to see what other people thought. I sure hope it is not true (I happen to be a "baby boomer")! I am not sure what holding a carrot in front of anyone has to do with the question I asked either!
My Boomer Tips
Former self-styled beatnik, hippie, radical, counter-culture types, the ones who decided suburbia wasn't so bad once they discovered the real world, have been a mainstay of the left for more than a generation. More than Clinton, the election of Obama was a realization of the baby-boomer liberal's dream. Were the recent elections a repudiation of the sanctimonious baby-boomer liberal agenda?
Please note, "baby-boomer" is not the subject, it is "baby-boomer liberal".

Hey everybody. I'm an Industrial Design student at Virginia Tech and we're working on a sponsored project to develop product concepts for the 'Baby Boomer' generation. Any answers to this question would help greatly in the current research phase! Thank you so much!
My Boomer Tips
My Mom is a baby boomer and all of the sudden she is demanding money to pay for her health insurance. She has to have open heart surgery because apparently all that fast food eating and lack of exercising eventually caught up with her. I'm paying the price because she chooses to eat KFC/chinese/mcdonalds/etc everyday.
My Boomer Tips
Every few days I come accross some oped piece or some other article where a baby boomer pontificates about the greatness and bravery of their generation. What in the hell have these people done to make them feel so superior? I'll give them two things civil rights and women rights. That's it. Everything else they claim as accomplishments of their generation is pure fiction. Open my eyes people and show me what good this over indulgent generation has done. The legacy of the boomer generation is overpriced housing, daycare centers, strip malls, and a crumbling country and culture.
Faitfhful Atheist: Not sure you know what generation I'm talking about.
I got you babe: Wow, that's exactly the kind of crap I'm talking about. Boomer's are so full of crap that its coming out your ears. By your own admission the only thing the boomers have done is the equivalent to saying "hey the sky is blue!". Your generation built nothing, and destroyed everything. Education in the U.S.A. started going down hill precisely when the first boomers started getting involved in policy decisions. Social morals and civic duty started to erode just as the first boomers entered adult hood. I guess pointing out faults is fun but its not productive. My generation may contribute little but will not claim to have done it all like the boomers have, we're too cynical for that. We hate hypocrisy while the boomers wear it like a warm sweater.
My Boomer Tips
I've heard that a person born between 1960 to 1964 are in the last part of the Baby Boomer Generation, and the start of the Generation X generation.
So, if you were born during that time, do you feel more like a GenXer or a Baby Boomer?
I'm the youngest in my family, so I more relate to the Baby Boomer years than the GenX years.

The latest issue of AARP magazine compared both candidates' records and positions and showed a very strong preference for Obama over McCain. I am myself a Baby Boomer, and I agree 100%; Obama is the candidate to promote issues that are important to most of us.
I'm interested in knowing if you agree or disagree with the sentiment expressed by AARP.
Unlike many of you Baby Boomers who answered below, my Baby Boomer friends and I all think that Obama is a better answer than McCain. Just depends, I guess, on who you choose to hang around. My friends are all successful, reputable, and informed. How about yours?

There's been a lot of talk about Barack Obama not being part of the Baby Boomers, and from what I can find, he is right on the cusp of that generation, but that depends on your source. Also, technically since his grandfather was in WWII, that would make his mother a Baby Boomer and he would be part of the next generation.
