My Boomer Tips

The doctor explained to her that she cannot do any physical actions for over 15 minutes and that she has arthritis. So exercise is very limited. I really am looking for some natural supplements that may increase flexibility and strength. (Upper Body) She is always in pain in her upper body so painkillers help but do not fix the problem. I am her son, and I hope someone can please help.

there is something called noni juice….I know many people don’t think it works but I swear by it…..I found about it when I had plantar faciatitis..it works…..I have no financial interest in any company that sells it…..I do however have certain standards that is must meet…..100% pure noni…no fruit juice added or anything else, just the juice…..Omega 3 fatty acids supplements have an anti-inflammatory effect…so does ginger….the joint supplements like Osteo Bi Flex, these usually take a few months to notice effects….exercise could be water aerobics, does not create a lot of impact on the joints, in fact not exercising makes the joints less mobile over time….more info below

Has she tried taking some vitamins that are made for older people? They have stuff in them specifically designed for older people.

I would suggest a good calcium +D vitamin to help her bones. Add to that a glucosamine chondroitin which would help with joint pain. Last I would make sure she starts drinking a protein supplement like ensure or boost may even be better. The protein will help her to feel a little bit stronger and provide her with more energy. Good Luck

She needs to move. Movement will help her with the arthritis as well.

She can get painkillers and supplements such as greenlip mussel extract to help with the arthritis, but best for her would be some sort of swimming activity.

Go to the local swimming pool and see if they do water-robics or some such thing. There are often classes led by an instructor and very valuable for older people or people who have mobility issues such as arthritis. The water will help support her and make activity easier, exercise will help strengthen her muscles and tendons, and it will help strengthen her bones.

I don’t think there’s any supplement in the world that is going to give her stronger muscles. It’s all in the movement and exercise. In order to grow back stronger, muscle must first be broken down, and this can be done with gentle exercise.

A good diet and fresh air – her happiness may relieve some of her pain. So perhaps you could take her out every now and then. Get her a wheel chair if she hasn’t got one already. 50 is too young to be suffering like that.
