“The business of government is the business of the people. and the people are right here”
this man is exceptional! the delivery analysis and compassion is outstanding and essential!!!
his speech is indeed witty, logical, structured, essential, simple, and most of all original and coming from his independent mind!
An American mind at his best….unfortunately never achieved again yet
this what had made this country great……
this matter is too important…..to leave it to misinformation and deception…
very true
If Kennedy was alive today and President, Beck, LImbaugh and FoxNews would be trying to destroy him.
Fucking heavyweight
No one his equal since! Thank you, Mr. President for your inspiration and leadership!
I agree with you kinakina
Listen to 8:05-8:012 for you who are being scared away from universal health care by republican scare tatics.
Kinakina123123 of course the republicans would try to destroy Kennedy but they could not. He would cut through their lies and sound bites to get to the problem at hand…like health care. 17 yrs ago I paid $17.85 for health coverage. Today I pay $355.00 a month for it. What’s it going to be 10 years from now and how about those who can’t afford it? Just forget them so millionares can pay less taxes? Kennedy had a heart for the needy, let us follow his lead!
I agree. He would be just as effective and impressive today as he was in the 1960′s. He transcends time really.
” Because the buisness of government is the buisness of the PEOPLE!”
-JFK
Next time you here a republican saying how we should trash the universal health bill because govt. gets in the way and only fouls up free enterprise, please reminded him of these word said by a President who’s sole care was helping the people, not lobbiest who put millions of dollars in republican representatives bank accounts to mis-inform and scare the american people. We need universal helth care NOW!
Do a utube of “JFK tax cuts” that are in favor of corporations. He was a good bluedog or republican…take your pick. But for sure he wasn’t an Obama socialist. In fact, Obama couldn’t even carry his golf clubs! Cheers!
He was more independent. If you was around today, he would be a moderate Democrat or a moderate Republican. He supported tax cuts, but oppose tax allowance for oil corporations. He supported health care reform, housing reform, NASA, immigration reform, he was pro-gun rights, , etc. So, he wasn’t exactly a total liberal or a total conservative.
“Nobody here wants something for nothing, they are willing to contribute during their working years and that’s the principle that has been lost sight of.”
I hate to say it but we all want to contribute just enough to justify our entitlement from the government and that means with socialism your heart just cant be in the work, because others will get the same as you and won’t work, so everyone does just enough. Hardwork today seems more like a front or facade than actual production.
I use to have that philosophy until I saw people witness expensive insurance. Socialism isn’t right since private enterprise should exist. Yet at same time in a recession, radical solutions ought to be achieve in order to make sure help is given while at the same time we don’t create a extremely dependent culture. The government isn’t hollow. Even the Constitution outline key provisions that it should do to create economic vitality.
@kinakina123123
No they wouldnt. Kennedy wouldnt be welcomed into the Democratic Party today simply because he was a tax cutter and strong on military defense.
@kinakina123123
Not to mention, the Kennedy plan being proposed back then was payed for by workers paying into the system while they work. Obama’s current system simply prints money out of thin air and borrows from China to pay for this. Over 10 full years of implementation, the cost is $2.4 Trillion. Obama claimed it wouldnt surpass $874 Billion, yet AFTER its passed, the estimates change to $2.4 Trillion.
Kennedy’s plan was concerning Senior Citizens, not ALL Americans like Obama’s expensive plan does. Two totally different things. Kennedy is NOT advocating Nationalized Healthcare. Simply an expansion of the role of Social Security into the medical expenses of Senior Citizens.
@NickB1121 nice try. But you’re full of shit
@kinakina123123
No, they wouldnt. Kennedy was a Conservative my today’s standards. JFK wouldnt even be welcome in today’s Democratic Party. Look up JFKs speech on tax cuts for all Americans to help strengthen the economy. He was pro-business. He was pro-military. He stood for all the things that today’s GOP stands for. And this speech in this video is concerning Social Security for senior citizens, and NOT Socialized healthcare for all, as Obama has now done.
@greeniem
Typical Liberal response…..no facts and only insults. Im sure you will win over many people to your side of the argument with such a simple argument. LOL
@NickB1121 typical lying cock dog , making shit up like the usual pedophile
@greeniem
LOL, whatever you say. You are just proving my point even further. Liberals have no legit arguments except for personal insults. No wonder those Confederate Democrats never really changed their ways in the 60s…..it was Republicans who, percentage wise, were more in favor of civil rights ect.
JFK supported health care reform (beyond just private effort. This was for seniors, but opponents back then called it as apart of socialism), housing legislation, believed in immigration reform, loved the 2nd Amendment, wanted peace with the Soviet Union (even in a joint Moon race project), etc. He wasn’t totally a conservative. He was Independent.
JFK criticized Big Steel in a populist speech for their price fixing. This isn’t exactly JFK acting as pro-laissez faire. He criticized a paranoia against regulation.
