If your ankles are swelling and your feet appear fat on top and the skin is stretched, then a trip to the doctor is in order. Your feet can be fat while the rest of you is the same size, this is from water retention. This could be an early warning sign of several health problems. You might need some medical tests and treatments to figure out what’s going on and to take care of the problem.

If your feet and ankles are not swelling or swollen for any reason and they look the same as always -just larger -then it’s just part of getting older. As we age our tendons loosen and our feet get larger from the strain of having to carry the weight of our bodies for years and years. Gravity pulls hard on us and the feet take the most punishment. They spread in all directions. I was a size 7 medium width when I was 16, in my 20′s I was a 7.5, after having kids I became an 8 and had to wear wide width shoes, and now, as I approach 50, I’m taking an 8.5 wide. most of my friends are the same, one is thrilled because she no longer needs special narrow shoes any more. Like every other part of the body, the feet change as we get older. It happens. If someone says they are wearing the same size shoes and it hasn’t changed since they were teens, then they are wearing some seriously wrong sized shoes.

well as u get older, certain parts of the body continue growing. such as the ears and nose. however, the feet should not. are you feeling any pain? noticing any lumps or skin irritations? Ask you’re doctor.

Its just because you are getting older and your body is changing. some women get smaller feet you just happen to get larger feet!
you just have to let your body do its thing and you just have to buy bigger shoes! :p

As you grow older, the arches of your feet gradually flatten out after years of pressure, making your feet grow longer. Have you had somewhat high arches?
