Empty-nest syndrome is the name given to a psychological condition that can affect parents (most commonly women) around the time that their children leave home.

Because so many people feel they suffer from this condition, the charity Parentline Plus has recently set up a specific advice line for them.

Empty Nest Syndrome is not a term you'll find in many medical text books, but it has become a useful ‘label’ for the feelings of sadness and loss, which many individuals experience when their children fly the nest.

It's most common in autumn, when vast numbers of teenagers go to college or university.

It can also happen when a child gets married, because matrimony is a clear signal that parents are no longer needed in the ways they once were.
Normal reactions

It's natural for a parent to feel some sadness when children leave home.

Indeed, it’s normal to have a little weep now and again – or even go into the absent child's bedroom and sit there for a while in an attempt to feel closer to him or her.

We know of a successful, busy and confident woman who admitted she used to go into her son's bedroom to sniff his dirty T-shirt and have a little cry, after he left for uni the first time.

At first the house is far too quiet. Then you realize there is no one to take care of. Then you have way too much time on your hands. Then you ache for the absent one. But then you realize that as a parent you did your job: to raise a human that can function on their own, and you feel proud. Then they start to visit often because they miss your cooking (and you too, maybe). They call often for advice, because all of a sudden you have become the most intelligent information source in their lives. You finally reach a point where you enjoy the quiet and the extra time and space. But you always, always watch for them at your door.

Well that depends on what you like, if you love disney, I would highly recommend disney world/land or orlando studios, disney world and orlando studios are both in Orlando FL, USA. And disneyland is in California, USA. If you like harry potter, shrek, super heroes like Hulk, Spider man, the simpsons, and that stuff, you will LOVE Orlando studios.
If you like to just sit back, enjoy the beach and nice sun set while relaxing, go to the Caribbean, Costa Rica, or Mexico.
If you want to go site seeing and do lots of activities, go to New York, Germany, Italy, France, Australia, etc...
You should go to a travel agent and look at brochures.

My personal favourite and I highly recommend, is Scotland, Ireland and Canada!

Hope this helped!

well you only get one mother and thats it....... love works crazy and she fell for the crazy part of it. I would talk to her again and let her see your kids but keep it to a very minimal like start seeing her holidays only then see what happens.
