Baby Boomer Christmas
My Boomer Tips
High-Quality viewage is a must.
I was thinking of all the people I know who have a bit of sadness during the holiday season, and I know what that's about. Still, I love Christmas, so I use any tool I can to make the sadness work with it ... to acknowledge it, if that makes sense. It seems normal for people in my age group to feel this way, so I don't want to pretend that it doesn't exist for some of us. I was sad when I got up that morning a few weeks ago, and decided to drive to Georgetown in DC I've always been happy there, and I knew I could make myself happy if I were to take that drive. It wasn't planned. It was a spur of the moment thing. The fall footage in the beginning was from a few weeks before that. The fellow who was driving that day is Ben, and I want to thank him for giving me that afternoon. music by Kevin MacLeod. incompetech.com.

and do you know that, at some point, I thought, “at least I made a happy last video.” HAHA!
Merry Christmas, Sven! I’d love to have you along for the drive, too! Also, check out the car in 1:39. Ben, the guy who was driving in the beginning of my video, noticed this car right away when he saw this video.
We have to find that car … and steal it.
Well, thank you for the kind compliment and I’m glad you’ve enjoyed my video! I appreciate your sub, and I’ve subbed back. Merry xmas to you, too!
It wouldn’t let me post my last comment, darnital. I think it’s better, my wrist. It still twinges when I move it a certain way, but it doesn’t hurt to type today and it did yesterday. I think it’s on the mend. Loves back as always!
Im sure the issue is mine, my computer died yesterday and Im using a loaner (that is dying too) for the time being.
I can report the same for Smyrna (my hometown), I hit the streets at 12:)
Hehe, yeah, really a nice car. About the design it looks kind of a Lamborghini but I don’t know any Lambo with these lamps at the tail.
kalacaw does not know of such things, Sven. Ben spotted it right away when was looking at the video, though. “Wait, wait, wait! What was that?” So we had to go back and look at the car in the video. He said Lambo, but I wouldn’t know.
Ha ha ha.. Yes.. well, I hope that you’ll go and get yourself checked out.. This was most likely a warning, next time may not be just that! Sorry to sound harsh.. but that is the reality! Having said that, I’m awfully relieved and grateful for the fact that you’re still with us…
Take care now.. and don’t wait! If you haven’t been to see the Dr already, then do so as soon as you possibly can! No discussion, no ifs and buts.. Just go!!
That’s a good girl…
thank you Betty!! your the best!!
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!
Thanks, Peter. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you, too! I hope the coming year is a great one for you!
I will, but I won’t enjoy it.
Don’t worry. The rest of the story is that a young neighbor happened to show up to say “Merry Christmas,” just before they arrived. I’ve known that child for six years, and all I could think was that I had to live to see her graduate high school. I’ll go.
Good… I’m starting a new ‘health regime’ once the festive season is over.. It won’t be the first time I’ve started such a scheme, but maybe I’ll stick to it this time..
Such pretty foliage; we are so lucky in this area! How about the 60 degree weather today? Love those little stores in Georgetown I avoid going to DC though because of the traffic and parking issues; usually end up taking the Metro from SoMD if I must go. Need to go to Fairfax on Tue:-( Hope that you are feeling better after the Xmas day scare. All the best for the New Year to you!!!
What a great comment to find! My ex and I lived in Ft. Washington, but we were all over Md. I’m from Alexandria, but the whole region really feels like home. You know, it’s just such a megalopolis. I don’t know if you noticed my momentary focus on the former Dixie Liquor, just as one emerges from Key Bridge. I feel cheated that it’s not there anymore, even though I’ve never been inside.
Xmas Day scare, yes, but I think I’m fine. I’m going to the doctor just to make sure.
Did you ever get caught? I got caught just two weeks before I was supposed to take my driver’s test. They let me off, though, and all I could think of was how many years I’d gotten away with it, including the time my battery died and I got a couple of cops to jump my battery. True fact #739! HAHA!
sorry Mrs Caw , i didn’t realize the gravity of the situation when i first commented on this video , or else i would have replied differently .
be well my friend , and even BM has a heart , so please feel free to send me a message if you ever feel the need .
Happy Holidays and all that other formal nonsense . Just kidding , i wish you well during this time of year . JV
Great angles! Those shots from the sunroof and of the cars seemingly coming out of the screen were incredible! This is a truly wonderful piece of editing!
Hope you had a nice Christmas anyway! lol
Thanks, Andy! A neighbor and friend, Ben, was driving for the first part of the video. He took me all over this area that day just so I could get that footage. We had a wonderful time that day, and I’m glad you enjoyed the editing. I do love the editing process, I must admit. It’s a lot of fun, and I’d been looking for something that would work for me for a long time.
Oh, it was a wonderful holiday! Your comment was perfect! I enjoy reading that somebody thinks my video is awesome! I appreciate your kindness as well. I’ve truly met the loveliest people on You Tube.
Blue skies…I’m loving the BLUE skies. Haven’t seen those here in a long time. Oh what pretty streets. I want to go shopping! I saw a few things I needed. (lol) PEACE LOVE AND HAPPINESS! Happy New Year to you!
I used to love shopping in Georgetown, but that was a long time ago. I think it was about the nightlife as much as that for me, but I was just as happy driving down M Street at night as actually going in one of the pubs because of the crowds. It was less of a hassle to drive through and watch other people party.
LOL Betty as long as you liked Shoppin the Goodwills, Salvation army and…. Habbitt for humanity we would have blast!!!!
xoxo
Baby, you know how I was driving by those stores? That’s it. I just be drivin’ by.
Hey man, I don’t buy anything new. My Mom didn’t either. We’d go to lunch, then spend the rest of the afternoon plowing through thrift shops.
An afternoon with you would be slightly different, and, therefore, a blast. With my Mom … no blast. :O
